2021 Bourgogne Blanc, Benjamin Leroux
2022 Bourgogne Blanc, Benjamin Leroux
White • Dry • Medium Bodied • Chardonnay
Ready - mature
Description
This wine is from seven parcels under Millerands and Sous la Velle, and from Belles Côtes further north. The Hautes Côtes fruit from just above Pernand-Vergelesses is returned to the blend this year. Everything is aged in foudres and 600-litre barrels. The wine is fresh, but is more based on intensity, with a lovely, mealy mouthfeel at the end.

Critics reviews
Neal Martin 84-86/100
The 2022 Bourgogne Blanc has a fresh lime and grapefruit-scented bouquet. The palate has good weight - quite a textural Bourgogne Blanc with a slightly honeyed texture and a straightforward malic finish. Drink two or three years after bottling. Drink 2024 - 2027

Allen Meadows 86-88/100
Ripe and fresh aromas of petrol and various white orchard fruit give way to succulent, plump and delicious middleweight flavours that conclude in a clean, moderately dry and refreshing finale. To enjoy young. Drink 2025+

Jasper Morris MW 87-88/100
Currently in tank, being fined in preparation for bottling. Pale colour with a reductive note. A plentiful exuberant juicy fruit, with some fresh citrus behind. Racy finish, this will be delicious to gulp down. Drink 2024 - 2027
