The 2019 Gewurztraminer Oberer Weingarten was grown on loam and limestone with some dolomite, and the wine was made with around 30-40% botrytised fruit. Intense rose petal notes almost verge into rose oil on the nose. This is followed by candied peach. It is on the palate that the real freshness comes through. Beautiful spice does justice to the variety’s name, with pervasive pepper and lovely phenolic texture. The gorgeous, bright, fresh length is unusual but delicious. 45 g/L of residual sweetness- Vinous
