Description
Brunate is one of the region’s greatest vineyards thanks to its altitude, southern exposure and complex soils. Only Manuel’s oldest vines, his top wine, were selected for this. Grapes are hand-harvested and undergo traditional submerged cap fermentation for 54 days—two years in botti grande under the watchtower and another year in bottle pre-release.
The nose is a complex whirl of black cherry, chinoto, mentholated oils and balsamic. The palate is gently beginning to show its potential, detailed and chiselled, with everything the nose promises, topped with an orange peel-raspberry tea finish. This is truly stunning, but needs a few years to show its true greatness.
