2016 フィフティ・ワン・ディグリー・ノース、ブリュット、ガズボーン・エステイト
2016 Gusbourne Estate, 51 Degrees North, Brut, England
White • Dry • Medium Bodied • Chardonnay
Ready - at best
Description
The 2016 is only the second-ever vintage of this cuvée produced, and it is, perhaps, even better than the 2014. Blind, you might mistake this for a Grand Cuvée champagne. The nose is delicate and expressive, bursting with white blossom and green apple. Yet the weight of the vintage is evident. The palate is rich, full-bodied and bristling with complexity.
Sixty-seven months on the lees has given the wine copious amounts of brioche, toast, and a buttery richness beautifully balanced by racy acidity. However, this wine still has a long way to go. The intense concentration suggests continued evolution under cork, adding even more layers of flavour. We'd expect up to 10 years at least!
