コトー・シャンプノワ・ブラン、ピノ・ノワール プネ=シャルドネ
Coteaux Champenois Blanc, Pinot Noir, Penet-Chardonnet
White • Pinot Noir
Description
Full bottle 1,365 g. An interesting still white from a dark-skinned grape. From their own grapes in Verzy and Verzenay aged in oak and based on their Réserve Perpétuelle made up of 12 different vintages.
Pale honeyed straw colour. This does actually smell of Champagne! Really interesting wine unlike anything else I've tasted on the palate. Chock full of flavour and much mellower than the young vins clairs my palate has been exposed to in its time. There's real grip to this as well as layers of beeswax and flowers. I can't really see that much Pinot Noir character but it's very long and characterful. With its low alcohol, relatively high acidity and high intricacy, I'm finding it difficult to suggest a food pairing. One of the most interesting wines I have encountered in a while.
