Description
This is the perfect vintage, in Manuel’s opinion. Here you have the traditional softer edge of the La Morra commune, held taut by a stitch of fine yet textured tannins. This wine is a selection solely from the estate’s two crus, La Serra and Brunate. In recent vintages, the fermentation has been extended to about 10 days, but there is now no post-fermentation maceration. A sense of silk and velour runs across the palate, around a core of scented red fruit, supported by these fascinating tannins.

Kerin O'Keefe 94/100
Fragrant and refined, the 2021 Marcarini Comune di la Morra opens with aromas of fragrant purple flower, dark spice and botanical herb. The elegant palate is sleek, smooth and savory, featuring wild strawberry, pomegranate, spiced orange peel and star anise set against lithe tannins. It’s balanced and bright, with fresh acidity.

Antonio Galloni 91/100
The 2021 Barolo del Comune di La Morra is a pretty, gracious Barolo that captures all the charm of La Morra in its aromatic profile and mid-weight structure. Crushed flowers, sweet dried red cherry fruit, mint and white pepper lend notable presence. Classically firm yet polished tannins extend the understated finish nicely.
