2020 Pommard, Domaine François Buffet, Burgundy

This is a blend of two parcels in Les Combes: one in the lower, village section, the other in the upper, Premier Cru, part. The vineyard borders Volnay, so the terroir, combined with Marc-Olivier’s delicate touch, gives a gentle, elegant expression. There’s plenty of pretty, creamy red-berry fruit, a chalky freshness and just a hint of Pommard structure. Drink 2022-2028.
