2017 Bianco dei Colli della Toscana Centrale Comitale Villa Calcinaia

A historic winery in Greve in Chianti, owned by the Capponi family since 1524. In 1992, the estate was passed down to its 37th-generation owner, Sebastiano Capponi, who took full control of the 200-hectare estate for the first time. This transition led to a remarkable improvement in wine quality, marking a significant evolution and expansion of the winery.

This wine is crafted from the quintessentially Italian Grechetto grape, with a small portion of Vernaccia. Harvested by hand from the estate’s freshest and most vibrant vineyards, the grapes are gently pressed upon arrival at the winery. The juice undergoes clarification before fermenting with indigenous yeasts in temperature-controlled small tanks. Bottling takes place in the winter following the harvest.

The wine displays a brilliant, pale straw-yellow hue with green reflections, offering a fruity yet complex bouquet. On the palate, it is well-balanced, with vibrant acidity adding freshness to both its flavors and lingering finish. It pairs beautifully with fish, white meats, and goat cheese.
