This steep, north-easterly facing vineyard is usually quite cool. But Savigny’s lighter soils seem to show the warmth of the vintage this year. This is more lush than usual, ripe and with a bouquet of warm strawberry. There’s plenty of weight and density for a wine at this level. It’s powerful, the concentration also deepening the tannins.
